When it was built in 1933, Coit Tower was one of the most prominent Art Deco structures on the San Francisco skyline — and empty inside. Within a year, the stunning murals executed by 26 local artists transformed Coit Tower into a cultural treasure and a monument to the daily life and turmoil of San Francisco during the Great Depression.

Join the Art Deco Society of California for an informative and revealing discussion of the Tower, its art and its times, presented by ADSC member Rory J. O’Connor, who leads regular tours of the Tower and has spent six years researching its history.
