Oakland Heritage Alliance presents a lecture by architect Arrol Gellner, Ready to Roll: A Celebration of the Classic American Travel Trailer. He will take us through the journey of the travel trailer, a symbol of America's love of freedom and the open road. Arrol will discuss vintage trailers of the 1930s, 40s, and 50s and talk about their stylistic implications, sometimes luxurious and sometimes whimsical quirkiness, as well as their broad appeal.
OHA will have their annual meeting for members only from 6:30pm to 7pm. This lecture is open to the public and begins immediately after the meeting at 7pm. Both the meeting and lecture will be held in person at the Chapel of the Chimes in Oakland at 4499 Piedmont Ave. Walk-ups are welcome, but you are encouraged to register in advance for this free lecture here.
